FISHING FRENZY!

Hey Sportsfans!

The early season bite has continued to excite on Lake of the Woods! As people step off the boats each day, we hear reports of good to great action.

The south shore/river bite has slowed down since opening weekend, but one could still catch enough for a fish fry dinner in an afternoon.

Earlier in the week, some of the charters fished by Knight Island and/or Bridges Island and had success finding a few keeper sized fish. As the week has progressed, almost all of the charters have shifted to fishing around Garden Island. The long trek across the lake has been worth it…  finding fish to toss in the cooler, numerous slot fish, and enough trophies to create a commotion.

IT’S BEEN A FISHING FRENZY…  and it is shaping up to be a great June.

2023 OPENING WEEKEND (RECAP)

Hey Sportsfans!

Opening weekend went off without a hitch. We had great weather… 70’s and sunny. The fishing was off the charts… enough keepers for dinner, slot fish galore, and a handful of trophies. I think it’s safe to say, fun was had by all.

Last weekend was all about the south shore bite. Fish were shallow, in 7′-10′ of water. The classic method… anchor, jig, catch fish… proved successful.

As the cold front moved in during the middle of the week, some of the charter boats ventured north. Fishing variable depths, anywhere from 15′-28′, they were able to fill the coolers.

Based on the first week of fishing, the summer season is going to be top notch. If you do not yet have reservations for this summer, give us a call, and SET THE HOOK! #218.634.1849
