While we’re reaching the tail end of our winter season here at Ballard’s, fishing is still going good! We are still seeing good numbers of fish, with good sized bags headed home with happy fisherman. The perch bite has slowed down, and we aren’t seeing many perch in the cleaning house these days. We are still about 17 – 20 miles across the lake fishing in 25′ – 28′ of water.

With March comes new regulations for Lake of the Woods, Four Mile Bay, and the Rainy River. The limit now for Lake of the Woods is the same as the summer with an aggregate limit of 6 fish with no more than 4 being walleye. In Four Mile Bay and the Rainy River, it is now a catch and release only fishery.

We still have some availability left in March, so if you are looking for one more ice fishing trip be sure to give us a call!
