Happy Opener Weekend…and a huge shout out to all the moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day!

Friday night before opener, one of the most anticipated nights of the year… We got a solid crew of antsy fishermen checked in, ready to ring in this season’s walleye opener.

Boats left the docks Saturday morning with some heading North to the lake, while others stuck close to home and fished in the river. Here’s the scoop…

On the lake, we have reports of a good mix of walleye and saugers caught in 22-28 feet of water on gold and orange 3/8 oz. jigs with a shiner on the tip.

In the river guides were focused on a depth of about 12-18 feet, catching multiple slots and a couple overs, again on 3/8 oz. gold jigs with shiners.

We had multiple groups catch 50 + fish throughout the day and one group of 4 ran their total up to 72 … a pretty solid day of fishing, I’d say!

We hope to see you up here and get in on this great Spring action… SET THE HOOK!
