Hey Sportsfans!

July was a grind. According to Capt. TK, the fish were “not jumping in the boat, you had to work for them, but otherwise it was pretty good”.

There have been different tactics for catching fish this month… some superstitious (like wearing your shirt inside out), some more realistic (like pulling spinners in Little Traverse Bay).

Mid-July was chilly; pair that with a big Mayfly hatch, and there were days that nice keepers were tough to come by.

With the cold front and bug hatch behind us, we are back to seeing Lake of the Woods style fishing… full coolers and big walleyes.
