Ice report #1 for the 2020-2021 season.

It was looking promising for some great ice on Lake of the Woods until this past weekend we had some hellacious winds out of the north which opened the north end of the lake.

We were able to get out on Four Mile Bay a couple of days ago and the guides found anywhere from 4-7 inches of ice a couple hundred yards offshore.

We are hoping this week’s weather turns out a bit cooler than the forecast predicts but either way the lake will still be making ice.  Stay tuned for updates and keep your fingers crossed that houses will be on the ice soon!

NEW THIS YEAR! Ben Barrus: Up and coming world class fishing guide at Ballard’s Resort

Ben came to us all the way from southern Michigan. He graduated from Adrian College, were he was a member of their Bass Fishing Team and enjoyed spending any free time participating in outdoor activities. Make sure to say hi to Ben when you see him around the resort and when calling in make sure to request him to be your guide out on the water.  Ben is excited to share his passion of fishing and the outdoors with our guest, and we are excited to have him apart of the team!
