2023 Summer Season

Hey Sportsfans!

The 2023 Summer Season has come to an end. It was a great season, thanks to our incredible guests.

We had unbelievable weather to finish off the season. (It’s not very often that LOW sees October weekends in the 60s.) We ended the season in the midst of a strong shiner run. Walleyes are starting to follow the shiners from the lake into the gap. As temperatures get colder, fishing should only get hotter.

The charter boats are being pulled and put into storage. Soon there will be ice on the lake and we will be dragging out the ice houses. Until then…

2) Our bar and restaurant will be closed. (We hope to see you back this winter!)

SET THE HOOK!

October Patterns

Hey Sportsfans!

What’s new on LOW?? The walleyes are starting to FALL into their usual September and October patterns.

The largest contributing factor to the success of the jig bite has seemingly been water temperature. As the water temperature has crept down, the number and quality of fish caught has magnified.

We have yet to see a large run of shiners in the river… so it’s safe to say, at least for now, that the lake is more productive than the Rainy River.

Our last day of guided charter fishing for the 2023 Summer Season will be on October 22nd. If you have not yet made a fall trip up to Ballard’s, give us a call, and SET THE HOOK!
