AUGUST 2ND

Hey sportsfans,

“The dog days are over,” is how Captain Tim described today’s fishing on beautiful Lake of the Woods.

The changing weather and unpredictable winds have made it difficult for our guides to track the fish, their feeding patterns, and their movements. Now that conditions have settled into a more normal pattern, the fishing has picked up and we’re catching fish again.

Our experienced guides can tell that fall is in the air, and the fish seem to know it too. As the seasons begin to change, the fish are becoming more active and feeding more consistently.

We’ve had good success out in front of the Gap, and the larger fish in the middle of the lake are cooperating as well.

One important pattern we’ve noticed is that the fish are holding above the bottom around the rocks, not tight to the bottom. Keeping your bait above the rocks has been the key to getting bites.

Have a great week!
