Welcome, Sportsfans to the weekly report here at Ballard’s Resort! Hard to believe we’re this far into July, but here we are! It has been a hot couple weeks with some pretty windy days thrown in there! With the windy days the guys have been staying close to home and are picking away at fish, otherwise they have been heading north of Garden Island. When they have been heading up north, fishing has been great! With plenty of good size eaters, and a mix of slots and even some trophies, it’s hard to have a bad day!
The guides have fully transitioned to the spinner bite. They’ve been drifting in anywhere from 14-20 feet of water and have been doing well. Hammered gold spinners are the go to with a crawler as bait producing a majority of fish. Minnows and leeches are putting fish in the boat as well. Water temps are sitting around 73 degrees and are looking to keep rising with the warm weather we have been seeing.
