It’s been a solid week here on Lake of the Woods. There were a couple blustery days which made it hard to get out on the lake, but overall it was a good week. Fishing has been consistent, with good numbers of eaters being found and a few upper slots. The big fish seem to be a little more difficult to find but we are occasionally seeing a few.

The guides tell me they have mainly been targeting the flats in Big Traverse and Little Traverse Bays moving away from structure.  They have been zoning in on the 25′ – 29′ range in Little Traverse and 32′-34′ range in Big Traverse. It seems that a faster drift with hammered gold spinners and a crawler or shiner as bait gets the job done.

Summer is starting to heat up and we still have plenty of availability! Give us a call to book your trip and Set The Hook!
