Hey Sportsfans,
The transition from spinners to jigs is underway, but anglers are still finding success with both.
Shallow gravel is continuing to produce walleyes, while the mud flats about 6 miles out are still kicking out fish as well. With the colder weather moving in, we’re hoping to see the first shiner run of the year get started soon.
When fishing the rocks, focus on keeping your bait above the bottom. Some of our nicer fish have been coming from these areas.
Anglers are still pulling spinners over both mud and rock, while some are starting to drag jigs and anchor as they look for an early-fall bite with the cooler mornings.
Walleyes are also being caught along the shorelines while pulling shallow-running crankbaits. Orange has been hot.
Spinner colors: Gold and Firetiger.
Jig colors: Pink, white, gold, chartreuse, orange, and chartreuse.
