We Can See Clearly Now!

The northern wildfire smoke has lifted! Fishing has been steady; it has slowed down from the past couple of weeks. The good news is, I have yet to see a sad face coming off the boats! We have gotten more into spinner fishing. Picking through the little ones, finding the keepers, and occasionally hooking into NICE summer walleyes!

We have been finding fish anywhere between 12-27 feet of water.

Come and join us fishing, who knows YOU may be the one to reel in the MONSTER of the day!

Here is a picture of our trophy board that hasn’t changed to much from last time,  but is BEGGING for more additions!

June is coming to a close; June was an OUTSTANDING month of fishing, with the biggest walleye caught being 31.75”!!  Jigging was the ticket for successful fishing all of June, especially with our cooler water temperatures compared to past years. Now that the temperatures are starting to warm up we’re starting to see more use of spinners!

Water temperatures are right around 70o.

Even from our last update, we filled some holes on our TROPHY WALLEYE board! Don’t worry we will find space for your picture, when YOU fish with Ballards!

Keep on Jiggin’

Wow! We’re moving into the latter part of June already. It sure doesn’t feel like it with the temperatures we’ve been having, but on the plus side, fishing has been HOT! We’ve been heading North each morning and continue to jig for the most part. A few guides have tried pulling spinners, but it seems like we’re having the best luck jigging. Water temps are below average for this time of the year coming in at 58 degrees this morning.

Our trophy board (check out the picture) is filling up. These are TROPHY WALLEYES we’ve caught this year… this could be you!

Leading up to Memorial Day!

We have had quite the weather these last couple weeks but it hasn’t stopped our boats from going out and finding the fish. When our guides have had ideal weather conditions they are headed north to the islands fishing in 26-29 feet of water. Days were the weather hasn’t been cooperative they’ve been staying in the river slowly but surely catching fish, trying to stay between 13-16 feet.

The water temperature is averaging right around 49°F

Make sure you get your reservation in for your future stay and as always. . .
