Week 1

Hello Sportsfans! Welcome to another Ballard’s Resort fishing report here on Lake of the Woods! We’ve had another great week and things are finally starting to look up weather wise! The wind has died down a bit and we haven’t had nearly as much rain with the exception for a couple of days.

Now, for what you’ve all been waiting for! With the bug hatch going on, guides have really started the transition to drifting spinners. The typical rig consists of a gold or silver spoon baited with a crawler. The guides have mainly been running up north and drifting in the rubble.

They have also been anchoring up and jigging trying to hit the morning bite. Jigging has been staying consistent with a gold or pink jig baited with a frozen shiner. While depth has been varied, the most consistent depth has been 20-33 ft.
